The prophet Jonah had to learn the hard way that “Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own mercy. But … Salvation is of the LORD.” (Jonah 2:8-9). J.I. Packer summarized this biblical truth thus “God Saves Sinners.” At the same time the Lord chooses to use feeble instruments like Moses (and us) to bear the life-changing truth of God’s Word to a lost and dying world. Can we learn from others or must we learn the hard way? The main points for the sermon available at www.sermonaudio.com (below) based on Exodus chapters 2 and 3 are as follows:
- How bad can it get? So bad that only God can save us.
- God chooses to use the most unlikely candidates
- What has the Lord called you to be and to do?
